About the Mott Haven Herald

Your source for local news

The Mott Haven Herald is your source for news of the Bronx neighborhoods of Mott Haven, Melrose and Port Morris. Its aim is to air information, connect residents and give them a voice.

Produced by students at the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at the City University of New York, the Herald is about the people of the community and the issues they care about, from jobs and housing to education and the environment.

We hope it will become part of the neighborhood’s life, and we welcome your participation. Tell us what you think of the Herald and what you’d like to see in it. There are three ways to reach us.

  • You can reach the reporter who wrote a story by sending an e-mail. The reporter’s e-mail address follows his or her name at the beginning of each story.
  • You can reach the entire staff by sending an e-mail to editor@motthavenherald.com.
  • You can reach all our readers by leaving a comment at the end of any story.

We look forward to hearing from you and to bringing you news that will help you make your neighborhood a better place to live and work.
