Bronx native Jamel Brinkley’s newest collection of short stories, “A Lucky Man,” will be the focus of the One Book, One Bronx book club for five upcoming Tuesdays.

The sessions, free and open to all, will be hosted at the Bronx Art Space at 305 E. 140th St.

The stories ‘explore the charged complex ties between men whose mistakes threaten their relationships with friends, lovers and family members,’ according to One Book, One Bronx.  Brinkley is the winner of a PEN Oakland award and the Ernest J. Gaines Award for Literary Excellence.  He was a finalist for the National Book Award.

The sessions last from 6:30 to 8 pm on Feb. 18, 25, March 3, 10 and 17.  Participants are expected to attend all five sessions.  The club meets weekly to discuss books that reflect the people of the Bronx.
