Police would not comment on whether the two crimes are connected. No arrest has been made.

Just before dawn on the morning of Sept. 22, two men approached a 21-year-old woman near 487 Brook Ave. and took her cellphone from her back pocket. The victim described one of the men as wearing red outerwear. Police arrested Jacob Ramirez, 18, an hour later a few blocks from the scene. Ramirez was arraigned later that day and charged with two counts of larceny and one count of criminal possession of stolen property. He pleaded not guilty, posted $1,500 bail and was released.
