Middle school and high school teachers are encouraged to register themselves and their classes for 2011 New York City History Day.
The education program engages students in grades 6-12 in researching historical topics analytically, then presenting their findings.
This year’s theme is Debate and Diplomacy in History: Successes, Failures, Consequences.
Students can use documentaries, websites or performance to express their interpretation of a historical topic.
Educators are required to register themselves and their students by February 4th at http://www.mcny.org/education/New_York_City_History_Day.html, and is considered complete only when the educator enters the names of all students and related project information. February 4th is also the deadline for papers and websites to be submitted.
Students should mail in four copies of their paper, with an annotated bibliography, or four printed copies of their website with annotated bibliography and process paper.
Anyone with questions, please contact New York City History Day Coordinator Ms. Stephanie Dueño at 212-534-1672 ext. 3410 or e-mail her at sdueno@mcny.org.
